What are the odds that the last time I felt so compelled to do a little write up on here I was talking about this very topic. You want a serious & deep romantic love in your life but you’re accused of manipulating Christianity for it. Then there’s the concept of being perceived as desperate and centering spouses (typically men in the negative).. suddenly your entire world revolves around relationships. Dating has become your new personality trait, your “Roman Empire”. One would think we’ve somehow arrived at the age where settling down and family planning typically comes to the forefront of an individual’s (typically a women’s) mind.
I mean I’m also lucky to be surrounded by “last to engage and last to marry are fools” race runners tripping over themselves to come off the market. Proposing left and right and prepping weddings back to back —even on top of each other at this point. So sue me that it’s something I tend to think about… albeit often… because it’s something I also want.
Just because I’m genuinely trying to make time for it now, being intentional and putting myself out there I need to also taper off how I come across while doing so? Being cautious as to not overdo it putting off not only the target audience but the people I confide in are also now judging me? Ladies? Ladies.
Maybe you’re not at the stage where this is desirable to you yet or ever. Maybe your priorities are different because we’ve established people are not copy and paste. We’re all meant to be different and go through different things. Maybe you’ve had a different growing experience where you weren’t brought up to hold finding a significant other to such a high regard. Maybe you’ve grown to hate traditional systems. Can we at least agree to pretend to be empathetic to those who do and are currently going through it in this current dating climate. The air is polluted as all f*ck out here!
